Ear Piercing After Care:

*Always wash your hands before touching your new piercing. Have anyone else wishing to touch your piercing do the same. Avoid Swimming in Lakes during the initial healing process.
*Soak with hot water for 60 seconds prior to cleaning to soften dried discharge (use clean cotton balls saturated with hot water to soak) Soak & clean your new piercing with warm water and a good mild soap 2-3 times a day. Ear-care solution or Bactine can also be used -only as a secondary cleaner, use soap & water primarily.
*Make sure you completely rinse all soap out of the piercing. Gently dry the area.
*Never use hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol. We do not recommend use of Sea Salt either.
*Cartilage piercings tend to need extra love-they remain sore longer as there is more to heal.
*Some soreness, mild bleeding, and redness are normal parts of the immediate healing process. Signs of infection include; yellow to green discharge, a bright-red ring around your piercing, the piercing or surrounding area burning, pain in touching the ring itself. Most mild infections can be treated successfully with home remedies, such as Epsom salt soaks (use a moderate amount of Epsom salt dissolved in hot water, dip clean cotton balls in solution & soak piercing as mentioned above—you should not do this for more than 3 days at a time) . If you have any ?’s please contact us or your doctor.
*After your piercing is healed it is recommended that the ring be completely removed, cleaned then replaced about once bi-weekly. This helps for long-term health of your piercing. If needed, come by and we can show you how to do this.
*You should only use good quality jewelry in your piercings; you should avoid nickel products.
