Piercing After Care:

*Make sure your hands are washed before you touch your piercing, as well as anyone else wishing to touch it. Avoid Swimming in Lakes during the initial healing process.
*Soak your piercing with warm water to soften dried discharge on jewelry prior to washing each time.
*After wiping away softened discharge (use a clean Qtip) wash the piercing with mild soap and water, make sure you get soap into the piercing by rotating the ring or moving the barbell back and forth. Be sure to rinse all of the soap out of the piercing.
*Gently dry the area. Never use hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol or ointments on your new body piercings. You CAN use Bactine or Ear Care Solution if you wish.
*We recommend not wearing makeup around the piercing during healing process.
*Some soreness, mild bleeding, clear to white discharge & mild redness is normal. Signs of infection include; a bright red burning ring surrounding the piercing, to painful to touch ring, yellow to green discharge. Most mild infections can be treated with home remedies such as Epsom salt soaks prior to cleaning (this should not be used for more than 3 days in a row-as it will dry the piercing out) If you have any ?’s please contact us or your physician.
*After your piercing is healed it is recommended that the ring be completely removed, cleaned then replaced about once a week. This helps the long-term health of your piercing. If needed we can show you how to do this.
*It is very important to use only high quality jewelry such as implant quality Surgical Steel or 14kt gold-avoid nickel laden jewelry. Be sure to stick with the same gauge jewelry as to avoid scaring & irritations unless you wish to professional gauge it up.
