Nipple Piercing After Care:
*Always wash your hands before touching your new piercing. Have anyone else wishing to touch your piercing do the same. *Avoid Swimming in Lakes for the initial healing process.
*Soak your new piercing with warm water prior to washing to help soften dried discharge on ring.
*After the piercing has been soaked & all crusties have been removed wash piercing 2-3 times a day with warm water and a mild soap. (Make sure you rinse all soap out of the piercing) Do this until it feels completely healed (about 3-6 months). Continue to wash it daily after it’s healed.
*Gently dry the area. Never use hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol or ointments on your new body piercings. You can use Bactine or Ear Care Solution. Check to make sure ball is on securely.
*Tight clothing around the mid-section can drastically increase the amount of time the piercing will take to heal & can cause major irritations. Try to wear loose clothing as much as possible.
*Some soreness, mild bleeding, and redness are normal parts of the immediate healing process. -*Signs of infection include: yellow to green discharge, a bright-red ring around your piercing, the piercing or surrounding area burning, pain in touching the ring itself. Most mild infections can be treated successfully with home remedies such as Epsom Salt soak prior to cleaning. If you have any ?’s please contact us or your doctor.
*After your piercing is healed it is recommended that the ring be completely removed & cleaned (piercing & jewelry) then replaced about once to twice a month. This helps for long-term health of your piercing. If needed, come by and we can show you how to do this.
*Please be aware that you should only use good quality jewelry (implant quality surgical steel, 14kt gold) and should not use any jewelry smaller than 14guage. |
