Piercing After Care:

*Wash your hands prior to touching your piercing. Have anyone wishing to touch your piercing do the same. Avoid Swimming in Lakes for the initial healing process.
*Gargle with Listerine (you may dilute with water if it’s too strong) after anything but clean water enters your mouth. (ie: smoking, kissing, soda, food etc.)
*Soak the outside with warm water on cotton balls to soften the dried discharge off the jewelry. Use antibacterial soap and water to wash the front of the piercing, make sure you rinse all the soap out of the piercing. Do this 2-3 times a day.
*The front of the piercing should be healed in about 3-6 weeks; the inside should take about a week to 2 weeks.
*Swelling is normal. Ice can help. Some soreness, mild bleeding, clear to white discharge & redness are normal parts of the immediate healing process. Signs of infection include; yellow to green discharge, bright red ring surrounding the piercing, burning pain, unable to touch the ring itself due to pain. Most infections can be treated successfully with home remedies such as Epsom salt soaks, dissolved in hot water on cotton balls. If you have any ?’s give us a call or contact your physician.
*You should only use good quality jewelry such as implant quality surgical steel or 14kt gold-avoid nickel laden products; also stick with the same gauge jewelry to avoid scaring & irritations.
